SDG Helps Pike Choose New Headquarters

Pike Nursery Prepares For New Growth

The newly reorganized Pike Nurseries is turning over a new leaf as they relocate their corporate offices in Gwinnett County from Norcross to Duluth. Under the new management of California-based Armstrong Garden Centers, Pike Nurseries Acquisitions, LLC signed a lease last week on 8,800 square feet in the Park Summit building at 2675 Breckinridge Boulevard in Duluth. Park Summit is a four-story, 81,000 sq. ft. office building owned by Panattoni Development Company.

Armstong CEO, Mike Kunce, who is moving to Atlanta to direct the merger, comments, “Pike has established deep roots in the Atlanta area over the last 50 years. We are excited about the opportunity for a new season of growth for Pike and feel that our new space represents a fresh start for Atlanta’s oldest garden chain.” Armstrong Garden Centers acquired the company last March and plans to keep open 16 Pike Nurseries stores in metro Atlanta and one in Charlotte, North Carolina under the Pike banner; they currently operate 34 garden centers in California.

Representing Pike in the negotiation of this lease was Dan Granot of Dan Granot and Company and Mark Parker, of SDG Real Estate, LLC. SDG Real Estate (www.sdginvest.com) handles Pike's site selection as well and is part of SDG Investments, an Atlanta-based group of companies that provide expert real estate advisory, brokerage, consulting, and investment services for a select group of clients and investors. Greg Frankum  and Tom Miller of CB Richard Ellis represented the landlord.
